CARL NEASE - Email
U.S. Naval Academy ’92

Midfield

A native of Richmond, Coach Nease graduated in 1987 from Collegiate School, and was a member of the Hall of Fame 1987 State Championship team. He played collegiately at the U. S. Naval Academy, and graduated in 1992. He has coached as a graduate assistant at the U.S. Naval Academy, and as an assistant at the Naval Academy Prep School.  Locally he has coached at Collegiate and Trinity High Schools.

In 2012 he invited a college coach to attend a game to watch a player who was under the radar.  While the coach liked the player, he commented that the lacrosse was way behind other areas in regards to game strategy, fundamentals, and talent.  This triggered Coach Nease to do something to elevate the area's game.  He started teaching a group of 4th and 5th graders from various schools the fundamentals.  The group grew quickly and by the Fall the young guns jumped into travel lacrosse.  Within two years he sold his regular business to feed his passion, and started the Next Level Greyhounds - now Team 91 Virginia.

"I am committed to building the lacrosse culture in Central Virginia to a point where all of our local high schools compete alongside teams from Baltimore and other hot beds of lacrosse.  I do not focus on any specific school(s), like other programs, because I know when every school improves the area benefits."
